About us
We are a community club for boys and girls and soccability players in Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas. We are an England Football Accredited club.
For boys, we have our Mini Soccer School for Reception and Year 1 lads and support league teams from U7s to U18s playing in the Cambs Mini Soccer League, Cambs Colts League, Royston Crow League and Eastern Junior Alliance League (EJA).
For girls we have the WildCats for Reception and Year 1 and Year 2 girls, and support league teams from U8 to U18 playing in the Cambs Women and Girls League.
We also have a Soccability provision for players with any disability or impairment.
There's a team for everyone!

Formed from a merger of Saffron Walden Community Youth FC and Saffron Walden PSG Girls in 2023, our Community Club has grown and grown. We are a registered Charity (number 801764) and run by volunteers. All subscriptions go towards providing quality football for our members and supporting the qualification of our coaches.
" Football has to be fun for kids or it doesn't make sense. "
— Johann Cruyff
" We don't need to be screamers on the sideline. I think we can create an environment where the kid is in charge of his own game. "
— Jurgen Klinsmann
Our coaches
We support our volunteer coaches and assistant coaches by funding their attendance at FA training courses. We have one of the highest number of qualified coaches at any youth football club in Essex.
Our coaches and assistant coaches are all DBS checked and have a valid Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid certificate. We take these qualifications and checks seriously. This is why we have maintained our FA Charter Standard for the last 5 years and were awarded Essex FA Charter Standard Club of the year in 2018.
All teams have at least one FA Level 1 qualified coach and many have two or more. We’ve also have 18 Level 2 qualified coaches at the club and these numbers are increasing all the time. 5 coaches have reached Level 3.
Our partners
Our senior club partner Saffron Walden Town FC, was formed in 1872 and are the oldest club in Essex still in existence and the 19th oldest in the world. Known as the “Bloods” because of the red in the club colours, Saffron Walden Town FC were founder members of the Essex County Football Association in 1882. We aspire to provide the next generation of SWTFC players!
This summer we formed an exciting new partnership with our local professional club Cambridge United FC.Read more about the partnership here

Did an email ever come out? We missed this today 😫
Wreaths were laid at the War Memorial on the High Street this morning on behalf of our Senior Saffron Walden Town FC team, Saffron Walden Community Girls FC, Saffron Walden Community YSC boys and our Women’s team.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
we will remember them.

Yesterday, our three U7 teams all played matches in the pouring rain 🌧️ and all three had great fun despite being absolutely soaked 💦
The U7 White team played a wonderful friendly match with our neighbours Thaxted Rangers Youth FC - it was a great advert for #minisoccer with plenty of goals 🥅 ⚽️ for both teams.
The U7 Red team followed them at Saffron Walden County High School with another great game, whilst the U7 Black team got muddy in their away match, both of which were in the Cambs Mini Soccer League.
Well done to all the teams - we hope you’ve all dried out by now!
